Even with an 8:00 starting time I had to knock on the Office Windowto rouse Paul from his sleep. Since we’ve had so many Break-InsI believe he spends most of the night patrolling the Plant. By the time I returned to my Utility Cartthe Employee Doorsuddenly flew open.

The first thing I had to do was to finish joining the Beamsand then to stitch them to the Ceilingso they’ll support the weight of the Carriersand all the Automotive Partsthat will be running down them. Ivan was busy getting Toolsmoved out of our way and lining up the Cleaning Crewto come help us put up the Shieldslater this afternoon.

The welding was finished by 11:20 so we stopped for our first break. For some reason I chose to eat half my Sandwichalong with the Orange Slicesthat Kathy had put in my lunch. Seeing that made Ivan do the same. We would later appreciate having doneso.

Before we could start installing the Shieldswe needed to reconnect the Drive Chainthat makes up the Paint-Line. Even though we had been careful to clamp it so as not to add too much slack when we broke it apartwe were struggling to reconnect it. The Cleaning Crewcame to our assistance which attracted the attention of Paul the Owner. Paul is an Electrical Engineerby trade and has some very helpful tips on how to do some things but when it comes to Mechanicalhe should just let us get it done even if we are struggling. After his initial instruction he kept changing his mind and added at least Two Hours to the job. As soon as we had it reconnected Ivan and the Cleaning Crewpractically ran out the door heading for home.

Tomorrow morning we’ll finish getting the Shieldsin place so we can enjoy the remainder of New Years Eve.

It was 5:50 when I punched out and after loading my Toolsinto the TruckI finally had the chance to call Kathy for the first time. I walked in the Apartmentshortly after 6:00. We had Chicken Noodle Soupfor supper and I finished my Sandwichfrom lunch. The hot Coffee/Teatasted so good we both had a double.

When the 6 o’clock Local Newscame on they must have talked about the Coronavirus Casesbefore I walked in but the Local News reported247 New Coronavirus Casesfor the Windsor/Essex Regionalong with 7 Coronavirus Deaths.

The Weather Networkshowed we had a high temperature today of 34F(1C) feeling like28F(-2C). With slightly warmer temperatures forecasted for tomorrow I’m hoping to have time to enjoy some of it.

Knowing most will be attending or hosting small New Years Eve Celebrationstomorrow Kathy and I want to wish everybody a Safe and Happy New Year. Remember if “You Drink. Don’t Drive”. The life you save may be your own and Law Enforcementis really buckling down on people DrivingUnderthe Influence.
