Rats Den, Kharen Back To His Old Self and Getting The Deals.

As forecasted it was Rainingwhen I stepped foot outside this morning and is expected tocontinue into Saturday. Some areas would be thankful to receive that but the Local Farmers are worried about their Cropsrotting in the fields. Even before this Rainfallwe had already exceeded this month’s Averageby more then a Few Inchesmaking the Farmersworried about their equipment getting stuck due to the muddy conditions.

When I spoke to Paul this morning he was concerned that there was a new Leakin the roof. Having seen water coming down the stairs from the LunchroomI started a focused grid search of the ceiling. Not seeing any ~~Drips~~I noticed the water pooling toward the base of the Water Cooler. After getting my Tools when I opened the base up I was surprised at what I found. I ended upfillingThree Large Dustpanswith Nesting Materialsand Bones. The Coolerhad become a Rat’s Den. Workers said the Coolerhad not worked in months and from the chewed up WiresI could understand why.

It took time to find the Water Shut-Off since it went through the cement floor. Getting a Ten Foot Step LadderI shut the valve by the Ceilingnext to the Maintenance Compound. The unit was bulkier then it was heavy when I carried it down the stairs and put it on the Workbench. When Kharen came in wondering what I was doing with the Coolerhe turned pale and practically ran out when I told him what I found.

Wanting Paul to see the problem I continued getting parts ready for tomorrow. It will be different because Ivan as well as the rest of the Forklift Drivershave to be recertified tomorrow so most of my day I’ll be working with Me, Myselfand I. Ivan hopes to get done early so we can get some Bracketstaken down.

I stood by the door inside the Plantto talk with Kathy because the Rainhad not let up. Having mopped the Lunchroom Floordry we were surprised to see water again gathering when the Cooler was not there. Finally the Ceilingstarted dripping telling me that the Leakwas located directly under the Roof Air-Conditioning Unit. At this time of year it will take Hot Tarto seal that up.

Kharen was back to his old self and came into the Compoundscreaming at me that I had to get the Pipingon the Compressor and Air-Dryer Unitsfinished. That was what I finished last week. He had to go check.

Paul came in to look at the Cooler. It will take time but is repairable. He also said that Kharen was losing it.

Kathy had been busy going through the old files most of the afternoon but had set up the Crock-Potto cook part of our supper. We had Chickenwith Barbecue Sauceas well as Macaroni and Cheesefor our meal along with a Chocolate Pudding Cupfor dessert.

We had theDishesdone before the 6 o’clock Local Newsreported19New Coronavirus Casebringing the Active Casesto 174of which 11were ~~Unvaccinated~~for the Windsor/Essex Region.

The Weather Networkshowed that with the all day Windand Rainourhigh temperature onlyfelt like 52F(11C). This should continue through most of the day Saturday.

Even though it was still Rainingwe felt like going for a ride and since I’m still replacing my Stolen Toolswe drove to Canadian Tire. It amazes me how you can save Sixty Percenton items. A good example was I purchased a Security Flashlightthat holds Three C Batteriesfor $16.99a few weeks back. After seeing how well it functioned at work I thought about putting Onein the Carfor Kathy. When I returned the next day the price was $49.99. They were “On-Sale” again today so we got Twomore.
